  1. Those with a scan tool and/or OBD reader may be interested in this from OASIS: Jun 06 2014 5013 -Unexpected Scan Tool And/Or Vehicle Electronic Module Behavior During Diagnostics During diagnostics some vehicles may exhibit unexpected vehicle electronic module or IDS / scan tool behavior. For example, on-demand self test failure, missing Parameter Identification Data (PIDs) selections in data logger, and/or other IDS / scan tool functional concerns. This may be caused by excessively high or low battery voltage. Verify that vehicle battery voltage is no higher than 14.75 volts and no lower than 12 volts during diagnostics when using IDS / scan tool.
  2. I've also had this happen, especially when I'm in a hurry. There seems to be a subtlety about having the brake pedal pressed and the transmission engaging properly. As I recall when this happened last week, I got the transmission out of park, but not into drive (or was it reverse?). "OK to drive" light was on. I had to press on the brake, move the shift lever back into park, move it to drive (or reverse?), then release the brake. I don't believe I had to stop and restart the car, but in any event, the transmission/brake interlock system seems to be a bit finicky.
  3. This today from OASIS: Jun 05 2014 5010 -2013-2014 C-MAX, MKZ Hybrid, and Fusion with 2.0L ATK or 2.5L engine – DTC P0340 or P0344 - Cam Position Sensor Some 2013-2014 C-MAX, MKZ Hybrid, and Fusion vehicles equipped with 2.0L ATK or 2.5L engines may experience a concern with the Camshaft Position Sensor resulting in DTC P0340 and/or P0344. If the Pinpoint Test results in replacing the sensor, verify the build date of the new part is on or after October 3, 2013. Older parts could result in the vehicle returning with the same DTCs. The build date is a 4 digit code located on the side of the sensor when holding it with the electrical connector at the 3:00 position. The first two digits of the build date are the day in the month (e.g., 1-31). The third digit is the month (e.g., 1-9 = Jan-Sept, O=Oct, N=Nov, D=Dec). And the last digit is the year (e.g., 3=2013, 4=2014). For example, Oct 3, 2013 = 03O3, Dec 13, 2013 = 13D3, and Jan 1, 2014 = 0114.
  4. This from OASIS recently: May 29 2014 4984 -2013-2014 C-MAX - Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display Some 2013-2014 C-MAX vehicles may exhibit an intermittent concern while changing radio stations. The station changes but the screen display does not reflect the station change. The screen may eventually display the correct frequency or channel after a few minute delay. This may occur on FM, AM bands and/or Sirius channels. To correct the condition reprogram the Audio Control Module (ACM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 90.04 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. For warranty claiming use causal part 19C107, and use the applicable 12651D labor operations in Section 10 of the SLTS Manual for the vehicle.
  5. This from OASIS recently: May 28 2014 4975 -2013-2014 C-MAX, Fusion Hybrid and MKZ Hybrid – Discharged 12-Volt Battery Some 2013-2014 CMAX, Fusion Hybrid and MKZ Hybrid vehicles may experience an issue related to discharge of the 12-volt battery. This condition is currently being investigated by engineering. Detailed service information should be available 3rd Quarter 2014. In the interim, inspect the water pump connectors for damage, water and/or corrosion in C1812 and/or the water pump connector. Also observe if the water pump continues to run for longer than 2 minutes after the vehicle has been shut off. Only replace the water pump if damage, water intrusion, corrosion or an operational fault is found. Monitor OASIS for updates and continue to submit Global Concern Reports. Yet another possible reason for dead 12V battery.
  6. Interesting; I have exactly the same experience with the same door. But not enough to worry about.
  7. 1. Get all the relevant software updates. 2..If #1 doesn't help, have the GPS unit replaced. This is a GPS issue, not a navigation problem; i.e. the nav system is getting wrong "where-am-i" info.
  8. "Also, despite there being no rain in days here, those connectors in the driver's side were covered in water. May explain my dead 12V a couple of weeks back, so dried them and taped them off a bit." Water intrusion is indeed one of the suspected causes of 12V failure. It's mentioned in the Maintenance forum.
  9. I usually blame the other driver. ;)

  11. Tell the dealer to take $100 off if they want you to advertise for them.
  12. I'm also on the list. And I haven't noticed a seat issue.
  13. This from OASIS last Friday. Perhaps one of our Ford reps can elaborate. Apr 04 2014 4801 -Announcing Advance Notice 14C03 Compliance Recall Advance Notice: DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD - Compliance Recall 14C03. Certain 2013-2014 Model Year C-MAX, Escape, Fusion, and MKZ Vehicles - Front Seat Back Frame Replacement. Refer to FMCDealer.com.
  14. Wondering about that myself. But I soon realized that, with the 12V battery dead and still connected, it will create a big demand. The dead battery would probably overwhelm the small battery before the small battery had a chance to trigger the HV battery relays. My 2 cents.
  15. As discussed in another thread, there's also TORQUE for android devices. Basic version is free.
  16. "Transmission Neutral In Tow Indicator circuit failure" according to a Google search.
  17. This today from OASIS: Apr 01 2014 4779 -2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, Superduty, Fiesta - My Ford Touch - Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display Some customers with 2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, F-Super Duty, and Fiesta vehicles equipped with My Ford Touch may exhibit an intermittent concern while changing radio stations where the screen display appears to freeze and does not display the updated frequency or channel, but the audio output does change. The screen may display the correct frequency or channel after a few minute delay. This may occur on FM, AM bands and/or Sirius channels. Do not attempt to resolve this condition. Engineering is working on a resolution which should be available 2nd Quarter 2014. Monitor OASIS for updates and continue to submit Global Concern Reports.
  18. Updated owners manuals are available online. I believe the third "printing" is the latest.
  19. FYI, this today from OASIS: Mar 17 2014 4729 -2012-2014 Focus, 2013 C-Max, 2013-2014 Escape - Ignore Body Control Module DTC B1D06:15 Some 2012-2014 Focus, 2013 C-Max, and 2013-2014 Escape vehicles may exhibit a Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1D06:15 after BCM replacement with service part number DV6Z-14A068-B. This DTC should be ignored. Do not perform any diagnostics or repair for DTC B1D06:15.
  20. This today on OASIS; not C-Max specific but none-the-less relevant (IMO): Mar 12 2014 4717 -2014 Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi - Oil Viscosity Specification Change The oil viscosity recommendation of 5W-20 on the oil fill caps on some 2014 Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi vehicles may appear to conflict with the owner guide and other service publications which recommend 0W-20 oil. Both 0W-20 oil and 5W-20 oil are approved for use in these vehicles.
