  1. From OASIS, Feb. 16: SSM 44931 - Vehicle Health Report Inoperative with Aftermarket Device Plugged Into Data Link ConnectorSome 2008-2015 Ford/Mercury/Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC may exhibit a message indicating Vehicle Needs 200 Miles on it to perform a Vehicle Health Report (VHR). If this message is displayed, inspect for an aftermarket device that is plugged into the Data Link Connector (DLC). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 418-00 Module Communications Network, Description and Operation. If an aftermarket device is found, do not perform a repair or attempt a module update as the device must be removed from the DLC for SYNC VHR to operate properly. After removing an aftermarket device, cycle the ignition key once and perform a short drive to update the odometer reading. If the SYNC VHR is still not operating properly, refer to the WSM, Section 415-00 Information and Entertainment System for diagnosis by DTC or symptom.
  2. According to my dealer, it's the greater of 1) 12 mths or 12k mi, or 2) the remainder of the relevant new car warranty.
  3. Make sure they properly snapped the shift cable in place lest you become "stuck in park" which is apparently what happened to me.
  4. In that case (old news) and in the interest of keeping the forums uncluttered, I encourage the moderators to remove this thread. Perhaps you can tell I'm not an apple user :)
  5. This from OASIS today: May 14 2015 6469-Various SYNC Equipped Vehicles – Apple iOS 8 and or iPhone 6 Functional Issues Some customers with SYNC equipped vehicles may experience Bluetooth connectivity issues after upgrading to Apple iOS 8/8.01/8.02 or using an iPhone 6 with SYNC. This is not a SYNC hardware or software concern. Apple advised that release iOS 8.1 resolved Bluetooth connectivity issues. Please direct customers to update to Apple iOS 8.1 or later. If this doesn't resolve customer connectivity concerns, direct customer to the following Apple support URL: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht6473.
  6. To reiterate: "The noise may be present in all gear ranges including neutral when the vehicle is moving, but will not be present when the vehicle is stationary or in Park."
  7. For the Energi lurkers: SSM 45098 - 2013-2015 C-Max PHEV and Fusion PHEV - Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) DTCP0B13Some 2013-2015 C-Max PHEV and Fusion PHEV vehicles may exhibit DTC P0B13 in theBattery Energy Control Module (BECM). This DTC may set erroneously when connecting the vehicle to an electric vehicle charging station or charging cable. To resolve this concern, reprogram the BECM to the latest calibration ....
  8. Yesterday, the car got stuck in park and had to be towed to the dealer. I tried several times to get it to operate but to no avail; shift lever wouldn't budge. Today, it's "fixed." Per the repair order: "found shift cable disconnected, checked for wear per warranty requirements, none found at this time." There's no explanation as to what caused the the cable to become disconnected, or what can be done to keep the problem from recurring. One possibility is that a cotter pin, c-clip, or some other retainer went missing when the transmission was replaced in January.

  10. Hazard: The jumpstart’s lithium battery can overheat and cause the units to melt, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing a fire hazard to consumers. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2015/Whistler-Recalls-Jump-and-Go-Portable-Jumpstart-and-Power-Supply-Units/
  11. I have to believe a diagnostic scan would be covered by the drive-train warranty. I'd take the car to a dealer. BTW, there's an engineering mode (search the forums) that can be used to gather some diagnostic code info. I would try that, too.
  12. I don't have an answer for you (wish drdiesel was still around; he would have known). My car was "born" in August of 2012 so it certainly had an early version of the transmission. I can say, the easiest way for me to demonstrate the problem was to have the car coast very slowly (i.e. walking pace), in neutral, with the engine, radio, climate control, etc., all off. I, and the dealer repairman, could clearly hear a grinding noise coming from the front of the car. Rolling a tin can with loose gravel in it will make a similar sound. Hope this helps.
  13. I agree. After taking delivery of my SEL, I was concerned about a diesel-like sound when the engine was under light load. Tried another C-Max at the dealer and it made the exact same sound so now I know what's normal.
  14. Look here re transmission "grinding noise": http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4792-tsb-14-0214-hf35-transmission-thumpingrubbing-or-grinding-noise/

  16. Be aware that if the car is dead, the rear hatch cannot be opened; the latch is electric. (Note, emphasis mine)
  17. We'll never know for sure, but I suspect not as TSB 14-0155 addresses several possible causes. I had the battery replaced last week after 2.5 years and 30K+ miles of trouble-free driving. The dealer performed 14-0155 so we'll just have to see how it goes. Now, to a possible early warning: a day or two before the dead car incident, my wife reported that the radio would not turn on. Perhaps this was a precursor to a failing battery.
  18. I should have been more clear. 3.6.2 is current for my vehicle, viz. MFT w/o navigation.
  19. 3.6.2 is current; future update: probably not (IMO). Logon to owner.ford.com and follow the "SYNC & HOW-TO'S" tab. Cheers.
  20. Next time I'll gladly pay the dealer to change the filter. What a PITA!!! The video and pictures were a great help. Note also, the screw is T15, not T20 as stated in an earlier post.
  21. Lest this be misinterpreted, the 12v battery does not do the cranking; the high voltage battery does that. But 12v is still needed to get the whole system going initially..
  22. And for those that may want to play around with it, Torque Lite is free. I haven't used the Pro version, so I can't comment on the differences; check the Torque web site.
  23. FYI, per their web site, FORScan for Android is still in development.
  24. That's the easiest to repeat. The initial symptom I noticed was a whining noise while driving. This happened in all gears, including neutral, and whether or not accelerating or coasting. It almost sounded like tires whining and was first noticed on the trip home from South Carolina after Thanksgiving.
