    Both models have degraded mpg's in cold weather especially when you are using heater. Last model year was 2018.

    Are those ebay maps made by illegally copying the map data or are they legit?

    Once the car is up to date on TSB's & sync version and the radio locks up again, pull the fuse(s) to fix that problem right away. If you don't it may leave the car electronics in a state where the battery will be drained.

    What version of sync are you running? My car has only froze up once in 6 years where I needed to pull fuses to reset it. I have had a few other sync glitches but turning the car off and on fixed those.

    Mine heats on the bottom seat and middle back area.

    Setting 1 is too hot for me after 10 minutes but by then the car is warmed up and the heater is putting out heat and I turn off the seat heater.

    If any of the doors is not fully latched or if there is a fob inside the car will not lock.

    Good luck with your issue. I would have guessed something on the car is drawing down the battery intermittently. I have a 2013 SEL replaced the original working battery at 5.5 yrs proactively. The replacement is also working fine.

    Congratulations on the C-max. You will have to wait until warmer weather in spring/summer for the best mpgs however. I think I get about 40mpg in the worst of winter but we have pretty mild winters in Oregon.

    Mine popped up a couple weeks ago for a 2013 manufactured in Feb. Funny the expiration date on the canister was in 2017 not 2018. Bought a new canister from local Ford dealer.

    If this was normal drop I would expect it happening more often than 1 in 20 starts. How often is this happening to others?

    My car does the low HVB in the morning thing sometimes, randomly ( maybe 1 out of 20 starts). I have no idea what is causing it. I have a guess that something is the car is still drawing power after being shutdown and the HVB is draining to charge the 12V battery. My 12v battery is relatively new so I don't think that is a problem. It never draws the HVB down completely. Would be interesting to have a chart recorder on the 12v battery to see if it is being charged after shutdown.

    I filled up yesterday too. I even did better than my last tank of 48.1. In the middle of this run I drove across the Cascade mountains in Oregon and so to get back home I filled up in Bend and didn't reset the counter. Got 48.5 mpg for 829 miles. The Homestead family got another C-max a couple weeks ago. My Son's family got a loaded 2016 blue C-max Energi with 17k miles on it. He has a 1hr commute (one way) each day so he is thrilled with the savings in gas so far. He got 191.8 mpg going to work and 51mpg going home. Paul you need to move to Phoenix in the winter to keep your mpgs up. :)

    Have you tried braking hard a few times to use the brake pads to clean the rotors?

    Was talking with a friend today who recently bought a Chevy Spark EV car. He told me what a volt owner was doing with his car. He puts it in 1st gear and runs with it that way all the time. When he wants to stop or slow he just lets up on the accelerator and the car automatically goes into regen and slows down quickly. He says it charges the battery quicker that way. So my friend tried it and says it works great and makes it easier to drive since he hardly ever needs to step on the brake anymore. I'm not ready to try this just yet with my c-max but am wondering if anyone has tried this and what the results were. Wondering if this would strain the transmission running full speed in 1st gear.     What are the symptoms that the shaft needs to be replaced?

    Thanks, I wonder if you hard wired the shutters fully closed if it would give the same effect as having a grill cover?

    Change your fob battery and get your 12v battery tested.

    You can call Ford sync support but they will tell you to go to your ford dealer to get the upgrade. I also downloaded it from the internet, 3.10 also works ok for me seems a little better than 3.8. Before that I downloaded previous releases from the Ford site before they turned it off.
