How Many Miles did You get out of Your Michelin Energy Saver Tires
homestead replied to ptjones's topic in Wheels & Tires
I have 52k miles on my original tires. Was at my tire place yesterday and asked him to measure the tread left. He got 6/32 on all 4 tires. They are 6 yrs old now. They are probably going to age out and wear out at about the same time. -

Here is what Michelin states about tire life: https://www.michelinman.com/US/en/help/do-I-need-new-tires.html -
I also test drove the prius V, the C-max is a lot better car but Ford seems to have trouble making reliable transmissions. My last 2 cars were explorer & c-max. The explorers were also notorious for bad trannies but thankfully neither of my cars had any tranny problems so far. I changed the trans fluid every 40k on the explorer. Wonder if that would help on the c-max? I think it is hard decision for people with a high cost repair to decide to put more dollars into their car when the replacement trans may face the same fate down the road. I only drive about 8k/yr so I still have a couple years for my warranty.

Washer fluid reservoir leake?
homestead replied to cr08's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Mine was leaking inside the car on the passenger side. The tube that runs to the rear wiper pulled apart at a connector near the sun visor on the passenger side. -
I wonder how much they charged that car?

My local ford dealer both installed and reset the battery manager free of charge. Try another dealer. They even hooked up a 12v charger while the battery was disconnected so I wouldn't lose any programming information.

According to Wiki "in August 2013 Ford voluntarily lowered the EPA ratings and issued customer rebates. The revised fuel economy ratings were reduced to 45 mpg‑US (5.2 L/100 km; 54 mpg‑imp) for city driving, 43 mpg‑US (5.5 L/100 km; 52 mpg‑imp) for combined and 40 mpg‑US(5.9 L/100 km; 48 mpg‑imp) for highway." But they changed the ratings a couple times and we got 2 checks from Ford. : )

There is a lot to like on the new Escape but in comparing it to my c-max... The only things I don't like about the c-max are the ground clearance and turning radius. If the Escape mpgs are around 38 then I don't really want to go backwards from c-max mpg's of 43 (I get 45). Not crazy about the caved in sides of the escape either, looks like it got t-boned in the side.

Which c-max do you have European or US hybrid?

advice on purchasing used 2013 C-Max SEL Hybrid
homestead replied to bsinboston's topic in Lounge: C-MAX Hybrid
Welcome Check that all the recalls have been done on your new car. My 2013 C-max just turned 6 yrs old so far it has been reliable and gas efficient. -
Both models have degraded mpg's in cold weather especially when you are using heater. Last model year was 2018.

Are those ebay maps made by illegally copying the map data or are they legit?

What version of sync are you running? My car has only froze up once in 6 years where I needed to pull fuses to reset it. I have had a few other sync glitches but turning the car off and on fixed those.

Read Plus 3 Golfer post again, that is most likely way to proceed. (HVB or DC//DC converter)

Mine heats on the bottom seat and middle back area.

Setting 1 is too hot for me after 10 minutes but by then the car is warmed up and the heater is putting out heat and I turn off the seat heater.

Ford C-Max Doors Won't open
homestead replied to sarjvela's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
If any of the doors is not fully latched or if there is a fob inside the car will not lock. -
Good luck with your issue. I would have guessed something on the car is drawing down the battery intermittently. I have a 2013 SEL replaced the original working battery at 5.5 yrs proactively. The replacement is also working fine.

Congratulations on the C-max. You will have to wait until warmer weather in spring/summer for the best mpgs however. I think I get about 40mpg in the worst of winter but we have pretty mild winters in Oregon.

Mine popped up a couple weeks ago for a 2013 manufactured in Feb. Funny the expiration date on the canister was in 2017 not 2018. Bought a new canister from local Ford dealer.
