Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
homestead replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Well that is good news and it is interesting the Transmission also shows up on the previous page 10 under the Powertrain 5yr/60000 mile warranty. -
Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
homestead replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Went looking for the original warranty for 2013 C-max and found this below. My question , why does the transmission fall under the Hybrid/Electric 8yr/100,000 mile warranty rather than the Powertrain 5yr/60,000 mile? New Vehicle Limited Warranty. We want your Ford C-MAX ownership experience to be the best it can be. Under this warranty, your new vehicle comes with 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage, 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Warranty coverage, 5-year/60,000-mile safety restraint coverage, and 5-year/unlimited-mile corrosion (perforation) coverage – all with no deductible. C-MAX unique electric components are covered during the Hybrid/Electric Unique Component Coverage, which lasts for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. -

Everything died on 2013 c-max hybrid. Help with numbers?

One thing to remember in the winter is if the heater is turned on and the engine isn't fully up to temperature the engine will turn on regardless of the charge on the HV battery. If you turn the heater temperature down then the car will go into EV sooner or just wait until the engine fully warms up. -
Yep, My daughter also has a Prius in fact two of them. She complains about lack of acceleration getting the freeway. ?

Or you could just buy a Prius? ?

My 2013 with about 52k on original tires measured 6/32 on all tires a few months ago. How often were you rotating them? -

Download the manual and you can read what the display on the dash shows. https://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/ford-c-max-owners-manuals/ You can also post a photo of the dash with the car running in park. -

Was probably the 12 volt battery that went bad not the hybrid battery. It's in the back of the car. 38 sounds more normal for the MPG reading on the dash. Constant 118 sounds like something is wrong. This time of year in cold weather around 40 would doing good. Welcome! -
Sounds like a bad environment where the workers are afraid to speak up. "Quality is job ??"

Buying 2013 Ford C-Max with 4k Miles

I think a 2016 or newer with low miles would be a better choice to avoid the transmission problem and to get the sync 3 software. -

Nice car. Looks like mine when new. If it has original tires they are about 7 years old. I'm changing my tires next summer only 56k on them now. Have dealer put on the latest version (10) of sync 2. Don't think I would mess with the brakes or battery if they seem to be working fine. Oh, the tire sealant in the compressor kit has expired, get them to give you a new canister too. :) -
How about ground clearance & turning radius. How did the braking feel?

It's Microsoft, just needed to be rebooted!

Got into drivers seat in my car today, did not start the car and sat there waiting for my wife to get in the car. Remembered that I forgot something in the house. As soon as I opened the door to go get it the alarm started counting down on the dash and suggested I start the car. Started the car to avert the honking alarm. Is this normal operating for the car alarm? Tried to repeat it later in the day and couldn't get it to repeat. Seems like unlocking/opening the door with my fob in my pocket should have also disabled the alarm.

My 2013 Hybrid was 47/47/47, but Ford paid me hush money 2 years in a row to keep my mouth shut. :) Actual Lifetime MPG 45.1 so not complaining.

Upgrade Sync 2 to Sync 3: Sync 2 APIM OUT
homestead replied to stratosurfer's topic in General Discussion
Would Ford work on a converted car if it breaks in the future? Even if it is not a sync problem would they refuse to repair the car? -
Had a strange event this week. Had my fob in my jean pocket. I went to put something in the back seat and then changed my mind, so closed the side door and went to the back of the car and opened the hatch and put the item in the car and closed the hatch. Went in the house for a few minutes and came out and opened the driver door and sat down. The dash said to start the car immediately or the alarm would sound. I pressed the unlock button on the door but the warning on the dash was still there so I just started the car. No idea what triggered this event.

Post Your Life Time MPG's, Total Mi., EV mi., Regen mi. and Brake Score
homestead replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
Been getting good mpg's this summer. Lifetime is 45.0 mpg. Below is my current tank and a half mpg's. Wife forgot to reset counter when she filled up. Colder days are coming so expect it to start dropping soon. -
We drive short trips most of the time <5 miles. In 6.5 years never had a dead battery. I think the problem is some cars the current draw continues after shutdown. Difficult problem to troubleshoot. We also listen to the radio after shutdown too.

Does the converter ever turn off if it senses the battery is fully charged?
