  1. Multiple Vehicles - Transmission Cooler Flush General Service Bulletin (GSB) This bulletin provides the process for using the transmission flush machine and provides an application reference chart. See GSB: G0000066 for details. This was posted yesterday on OASIS. It speaks to the use of a special machine for flushing a transmission cooler. It's noteworthy in that, per the bulletin, the use of compressed air, over-the-counter flushing fluids, etc., is not sufficient to clean crud from the cooler, and, in fact, can do more harm than good. Filed under FWIW. :-)
  2. This today from OASIS: 2016 Escape/MKC/Mustang/Expedition/Navigator/Transit/Focus/Fiesta/CMAX/F150 - Equipped With SYNC 3 And Navigation - French/Spanish Voice Prompts Incorrect Some 2016 Escape, MKC, Mustang, Expedition, Navigator, Transit, Focus, Fiesta, CMAX, or F150 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and Navigation may exhibit a concern with voice prompts not being pronounced properly when in French or Spanish language. Engineering is aware of this concern. No repairs should be attempted at this time. Monitor OASIS for future updates.
  3. But reached from behind the (front passenger) seat.
  4. No. Car was too sick. Repair order says, "ck engine light on ids test dtc p0203 perform pin point test kg1 to kg5 found open circuit in #3 injector", for which the correction is to replace the injector.
  5. Well, count me in the failed injector camp. "Misfire in cylinder 3." Same symptoms as others, viz. VERY rough idle, check engine light, and, in my case, an accelerator pedal that did nothing. Press on the pedal and nothing happens. Weird sensation. Rather like a computer mouse that doesn't work. Oh, but the "ready to drive" message and icon were displayed. I ran a health check and it said the check engine light is on. That was helpful. Engineering test mode showed no codes whatever. Had car towed to dealer and three workdays later "DTC p0203" and "replace #3 injector." All done under warranty (43k mi). Including the tow. So now I'm back on the road but with gradually failing trust in the cars reliability. Too bad. I really, really like the car. PS: It's getting harder and harder to refrain from sarcasm when writing posts.
  6. Well, I just checked, and the site still shows my C-Max is up-to-date at 3.6. :-( Can we please get some info, Ford, about what's going on????
  7. This is only to document the extended warranty. There's no actual update associated.
  8. I tried it once and it didn't work. Even with just one carry-on size bag.
  9. Sounds like you need to take the car to the dealer and have the battery checked to determine if it will properly hold a charge.
  10. FWIW, my transmission was replaced in January at 32K miles of which about 20% were highway. C-Max born 8/20/2012.
  11. Posted 11/10/15 on OASIS. Presumably this relates to CSP 14B07. 13. Look (and discuss) in Maintenance and TSB 's forum.
  14. This was announced 11/10/15 on OASIS. See also TSB 15-0174. Unfortunately, I have no additional detail. 15. I supplied my VIN and am unaware of any such notification. And I also did it myself. So this now raises another question: if the dealer was to perform the update for some vehicles, what are the ramifications of having performed the update by oneself? Curious minds want to know.
  16. Is there still no word about the availability discrepancy? It's been a month.
  17. It's a seal around the crankshaft (the output shaft of the engine). It keeps engine oil from leaking. Typically, an engine will have two, one in front where the crankshaft comes out to power the belt used to drive things like the power steering pump, radiator fan, water pump, alternator, etc. The other, the rear main seal, where the crankshaft emerges from the engine to attach to the transmission. C-Max has only a rear seal since all the other stuff (e.g. power steering pump) is electrical. Hope this helps. PS: There's also a "rear main" bearing, but they don't leak.
  18. Thanks for finding this picture. I looked yesterday but couldn't find it. Kelleytoons, you definitely want to use the underhood connections because the hatch can't be opened if the 12V battery is dead. Cheers.
  19. Same here. FWIW, my C-Max is 2013 hybrid (vs. energi) with MFT, but without navigation. Download worked fine. Note, the download is a zip file which needs to be unzipped onto the USB drive. The actual update takes some 20 minutes and has several periods of no apparent activity. One just needs to be patient and have the vehicle running the entire time. Cheers.
