  1. Agreed. I think part of the problem is semantics. In my view, the rear hatch doesn't really have a lock as do the doors. Ii's more of an electric latch which is activated from under the hatch handle. As an aside, this is why having jumper cables stored in the rear is a bad idea. The rear hatch cannot be opened when the 12V battery is dead. At least not on 2013 models. Cheers.
  2. Good job. You might also consider heavy-duty cable ties, left in a loop, to attach the carabiner. Do they still make pipe cleaners? They are (were?) great for snaking stuff around and through holes. Cheers.
  3. From the hybrid brochure: Standard Features 12-volt powerpoints (2) Just out of curiosity, which "powerpoint" got dropped?

  5. Yes, that 12V outlet times out, as does the outlet in the armrest. However, the outlet in the cargo area is live all the time. Or so I'm told.
  6. This today from OASIS: 1847-2015-2016 Multiple Vehicles- New SYNC Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) System Reset General Service Bulletin (GSB) New SYNC System Reset Procedure for some 2015 and 2016 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC that performs the same function within the APIM as the existing Power Reset procedure. 7. Don't forget the WAZE app. My kids swear by it.
  8. They are supposed to go off automatically to save the 12V battery. And, like Adrian, I just leave the switch in auto position.
  9. I presumed grade assist was to "assist" with braking. Now I'm wondering if transmission lubrication (engine turning thus transmission oil pump pumping) might also be a reason. From the Owner's Manual, 3rd printing, re. grade assist: • Provides additional grade braking with a combination of enginemotoring and high-voltage battery charging to help maintain vehiclespeed when descending a grade.
  10. Does the Energi have a separate transmission cooler in addition to the pump? Just curious.

  15. This today from OASIS: 2016 Multiple Vehicles Built With SYNC 3 – SYNC 3 Does Not Use A SD Card For Navigation Equipped Vehicles 2016 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 do not use a Navigation SD card. SD cards are not used on SYNC 3 systems and SD Cards are non-warrantable items for SYNC 3 equipped vehicles. If equipped with Navigation, the navigation map data resides in the SYNC 3 Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM). Unique APIMs are released for SYNC 3 Navigation equipped and non-Navigation equipped vehicles and these APIMs are not interchangeable. A Navigation APIM cannot be installed on a non-Navigation equipped vehicle in an attempt to add the option. Refer to the Owner Information literature, SYNC 3 Supplement, for SYNC 3 Navigation details and map update information.

  19. On the bottom, if I recall correctly. Cheers.
  20. I, and others who have had battery problems, share your frustration. But, how is one to know whether or not the battery issue/s is/are resolved? In my case, my first and second problems were separated by over 2 years. IMHO, there are/were several fleet-wide problems that resulted in dead batteries. I'm sure many of them have been identified and solutions provided. I have no idea as to whether or not fleet-wide dead-battery issues remain. Cheers.
