  1. The under-hood negative connection isn't obvious. From the positive connection, look about 5 inches toward the front and then down in about 6 inches. It's a post that sticks up quite close to one of the big orange cables. Cheers.
  2. Yes, 4 hrs is about right. I'd call ahead in case the dealer has to order the part.
  3. Posted yesterday on OASIS: Announcing Customer Satisfaction Program 15B32 - Supplement #1 DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD - Customer Satisfaction Program 15B32 - Supplement #1: Certain 2015-2016 Model Year Vehicles Equipped with SYNC® with MyFord Touch™ / MyLincoln Touch™ - Traffic, Directions, and Information Application Update. Please see FMCDealer.com for more details.
  4. Announced today. Oct 22 2015 2139 - Announcing Emission Recall 15E07 Advance Notice DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD - Advance Notice - Emission Recall 15E07 Certain 2016 Model Year C-MAX Hybrid Vehicles - Powertrain Control Module Reprogramming. Please see FMCDealer.com for more details. Perhaps one of the forum Ford reps can elaborate.
  5. I respectfully disagree because the two models have so much in commonthere are so few C-max's that the more information we have the betterIt may be very hard to determine if an issue is or isn't energi specific (e.g. transmission failure)If anything, I would vote for combining the two forums but with an energi-specific section. Cheers.
  6. No worries here, but I have only 3 years and 40k miles on the car. BTW, the HV battery is part of the 8 yr, 100k warranty.
  7. I have OEM mats. But for those that don't, perhaps you could post some pictures.
  8. This yesterday on OASIS: Oct 5 2015 2052 - 2013-2016 Fusion/MKZ/Escape/CMAX - Power Seat Track Is Binding/Seized, Grind, Squeal, Popping Noise, Or Is Inoperative When Moving Forward or Rearward. Some 2013-2016 Fusion/MKZ/Escape/CMAX vehicles may experience binding, grinding, squealing and/or popping noise when the power seat is moved forward or rearward. Customers may also indicate the seat track is inoperative or may move on one side or the other only, causing the seat to move on an angle. Repair using the revised seat motor/bracket kits(14547), for lower service part replacement. It is no longer necessary to replace the seat track(s)(61710/61711) for these conditions or symptoms. Follow the On-line Workshop Manual (WSM) section 501-10 for diagnosis and replacement procedures and use available service labor operations.
  9. I stand corrected. I looked but didn't see. But I still like, and will continue to use and recommend, etis. And I still believe the configuration of my vehicle should be easily obtainable.
  10. Sorry, but the simple answer is no. There are various ways, the ford etis site is one, that will show you what Ford believes needs to be done (e.g. open recalls). So far as I am aware, there is no independent, owner-friendly way to determine what software version is installed in each of the 30-odd programmable modules. Nor is there anyway to determine what the version should be. FYI, here's the list of possible modules for my 2013 SEL. Interestingly, the restraints control module, the subject of this recall and obviously programmable, isn't even listed. Ford, are you listening? I have a suggestion: have the vehicle health report list all modules and their software version.
  11. Of course there's always the light-bulb-under-the-hood approach. Cheap, easy, effective.
  12. My guess is, and it's just that, they are referring to the trip data shown between vehicle start/stop cycles. Although, I can't imagine leaving the vehicle running for more than 4 days and then taking it to a dealer to complain. Clearly the trip 1&2 numbers resetting that quickly should not be considered "normal behavior."
  13. From OASIS today: 2014-2015 Escape/2013-2016 C-MAX/2014 Focus And 2015 Focus Vehicles - Built On Or Before 1/26/2015 - Unable To Set Clock Some 2014-2015 Escape, 2013-2016 C-MAX, 2014 Focus and 2015 Focus vehicles built on or before 1/26/2015 equipped with a Front Control Display Interface Module (FCDIM) may exhibit a concern where the time on the clock display cannot be adjusted. To adjust the clock display, first set the date in the FCDIM which will then allow the clock display to be set.
  14. FYI, from OASIS today: 2012-2016 Focus And 2013-2016 Escape/C-Max - Normal Operation Trip Odometer/Trip Clock On 2012-2016 Focus and 2013-2016 Escape/C-Max vehicles normal operation of the trip odometer will reset at 2,000 miles/kilometers and the trip clock will reset after the 99th hour.
  15. "Supplement #1" appeared on OASIS yesterday but with no further information. I'd still like to know what this is about.
  16. Of interest to those who use DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) readers, this was on OASIS today: 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid/MKZ Hybrid/C-Max Hybrid - Disregard U3000:04 In The Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) Some 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid/MKZ Hybrid/CMAX Hybrid vehicles may exhibit a U3000:04 DTC in the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) that clears, but may return after a short time. This code is a commonly set DTC in the BECM and can be disregarded. Diagnose all other DTCs first. If no other DTCs are present no further action or repair is necessary. As stated in the Workshop Manual, Section 414-03, this DTC does not affect system operation and does not illuminate a warning indicator.
  17. The system is (supposed to be) smart enough to realize the fob is inside the vehicle and not allow a lock-out. On the other hand, my wife insists she was locked out on one occasion and had to reach through an open window to let herself in.
  18. Someone from Ford: please advise regarding the status of parts for this recall. It's been a year and my dealer says they have heard nothing.
  19. Agreed. I think part of the problem is semantics. In my view, the rear hatch doesn't really have a lock as do the doors. Ii's more of an electric latch which is activated from under the hatch handle. As an aside, this is why having jumper cables stored in the rear is a bad idea. The rear hatch cannot be opened when the 12V battery is dead. At least not on 2013 models. Cheers.
  20. Good job. You might also consider heavy-duty cable ties, left in a loop, to attach the carabiner. Do they still make pipe cleaners? They are (were?) great for snaking stuff around and through holes. Cheers.
