  1. Yeah , sounds like the 12v battery or the DC->DC converter that charges the 12V battery. Good Luck
  2. Welcome! Which C-max did you get?
  3. Haven't changed ours in 9 years since new. What are the symptoms on your car?
  4. Wow! What is your lifetime mpg?
  5. Take it to a different dealer to diagnose the problem.
  6. Yep, that is how mine fails too. Only happens about once a year or two. Pulling the fuse has fixed it every time so far. If it didn't I would disconnect the 12v battery momentarily in the rear of the car and see if that helps.
  7. Try pulling and replacing the 79 fuse under the glove box first for all radio problems.
  8. where to lookup recalls for car reset oil change timer procedure expiration of tire sealant under passenger seat years of car with transmission high failure rate sync 2 -> sync 3 changeover date how to reset BMS battery monitor ford change to 0-20W oil spec for early models
  9. Linda B. that sounds like it may be a different transmission failure mode than the earlier c-max transmission failures.
  10. So you have 139k and have avoided the 2013 transmission problem so far? If so you are doing good. Even the transmission is replaceable, all depends how much you are willing to spend. Our 2013 only has about 63k on it now and has had no major problems so far. Fingers crossed!
  11. Good video. One thing I did on my Hybrid when I changed the 12v battery, I had the guys at the ford dealer hook up a portable jumper to the plus and minus connections under the hood before disconnecting the battery. By doing this the car never loses 12v power so none of the programming was lost. You just have to be careful with the +12v cable on the battery when you remove it since it is still hot. After connecting the new battery remove the portable jumper from under the hood.
  12. Yeah, known problem. My 2013 has about 62k, holding my breath. I think some bought a used tran and had it replaced to to save $$. How much of your driving was city vs highway? Good Luck!
  13. Dealer where we bought our c-max has 15 Escape PHEV's in transit or on order. They are priced from 38k - 45k with 2.5k -3k markup from MSRP. Courtesy Ford
  14. Wonder if you could connect the car to your home wi-fi and still have it send you messages..
  15. Here is a review of Escape PHEV. He gives pretty high marks to the Escape. The video also compares the Escape to Mustang EV and Rav4 PHEV and others. In our neighborhood of Ford dealers there is now some inventory of Escape plug-ins.
  16. Any idea how much of the 4.8 kw power was consumed by heating the cabin?
  17. There is a tube junction right above passenger seat under the liner, just reconnect the tubes.
  18. The car build date is on the sticker inside the driver door.
  19. Here is a review of Escape Plug-in Hybrid. Review
  20. Yes, waiting for now, I see multiple people with these problems that my C-max doesn't have. Not in a hurry to give myself more aggravation. My 2013 c-max only has 62k miles on it right now. Plus in order to get one right now I would have pay a premium and then wait for delivery. Ford made a TSB for the rattling noise but it didn't fix all the cars. I think Ford will eventually fix these as they start producing more cars. Quality will improve. I think it's appalling that so many folks had to fix their own subwoofer, if it is so easy why aren't the dealers fixing them.
  21. The Escape PHEV sounds pretty good to me. I have been following posts on the Escape forum. I think I will wait until they resolve these issues before I order. 1. the noisy clutch problem 2. Rattling subwoofer 3. loose covers under the vehicle flapping at high speed.
  22. So what service(s) do you lose once the modem no longer functions?
  23. I wouldn't buy the new battery for the energi. Try researching for a place that will repair/replace existing cells in your existing battery. Think about how much gas $9-$10k would buy. If you are technically inclined buy a energi hvb from an auto salvage place and go through all the cells and see if you can replace all the bad ones in your car. Warning!! High Voltage present. Good Luck!
