  1. Yeah, known problem. My 2013 has about 62k, holding my breath. I think some bought a used tran and had it replaced to to save $$. How much of your driving was city vs highway? Good Luck!
  2. Dealer where we bought our c-max has 15 Escape PHEV's in transit or on order. They are priced from 38k - 45k with 2.5k -3k markup from MSRP. Courtesy Ford
  3. Wonder if you could connect the car to your home wi-fi and still have it send you messages..
  4. Here is a review of Escape PHEV. He gives pretty high marks to the Escape. The video also compares the Escape to Mustang EV and Rav4 PHEV and others. In our neighborhood of Ford dealers there is now some inventory of Escape plug-ins.
  5. Any idea how much of the 4.8 kw power was consumed by heating the cabin?
  6. There is a tube junction right above passenger seat under the liner, just reconnect the tubes.
  7. The car build date is on the sticker inside the driver door.
  8. Here is a review of Escape Plug-in Hybrid. Review
  9. Yes, waiting for now, I see multiple people with these problems that my C-max doesn't have. Not in a hurry to give myself more aggravation. My 2013 c-max only has 62k miles on it right now. Plus in order to get one right now I would have pay a premium and then wait for delivery. Ford made a TSB for the rattling noise but it didn't fix all the cars. I think Ford will eventually fix these as they start producing more cars. Quality will improve. I think it's appalling that so many folks had to fix their own subwoofer, if it is so easy why aren't the dealers fixing them.
  10. The Escape PHEV sounds pretty good to me. I have been following posts on the Escape forum. I think I will wait until they resolve these issues before I order. 1. the noisy clutch problem 2. Rattling subwoofer 3. loose covers under the vehicle flapping at high speed.
  11. So what service(s) do you lose once the modem no longer functions?
  12. I wouldn't buy the new battery for the energi. Try researching for a place that will repair/replace existing cells in your existing battery. Think about how much gas $9-$10k would buy. If you are technically inclined buy a energi hvb from an auto salvage place and go through all the cells and see if you can replace all the bad ones in your car. Warning!! High Voltage present. Good Luck!
  13. Looks like it is ok to use... https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/quickref/FCSD Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze-Coolant Backward Compatability.pdf • Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant can be used to top-off or entirely replace (drain and refill) antifreeze/coolant in vehicles factory-filled with Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant. Flushing: • Flushing the cooling system is not required prior to entirely replacing (draining and refilling) Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant or Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent with Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant if the cooling system is not contaminated.
  14. Decrease from the new tires may have started in April but you may have not have noticed it because of the spring warmup. Especially if you switched from the Michelin Energy Saver to a tire that has a higher rolling resistance. Which tires did you install?
  15. How about the last tire change did you stick with the low rolling resistance Michelin tires?
  16. Could be the colder weather, mine always drops 10mpg in the winter. What kind of mpg did you get last winter?
  17. How many miles on the car? Was it running rough, is that why you changed the plugs and coils? What about injectors? Any codes?
  18. Glad your sync 2 was working great for you and yet you decided to spend hundreds to upgrade to sync 3.? I upgraded to 3.10 several years ago and didn't notice a difference from 3.8 except they removed the car self-test. It is currently working ok with a few quirks, sometimes I need to press the home button to refresh the screen. Sometimes it will display the wrong fm radio station as being selected and you have to change stations and re-select the correct station. And the worst a couple times a year it will freeze up entirely and you have pull the fuse so it will reboot. Just barely OK for us but not willing to spend $$ to upgrade unless it starts having more serious bugs. And I wouldn't buy another sync 2 car or truck. Even the Ford Engineers call sync 2 a polished turd. ?
  19. I wouldn't buy a 2013 -2015 with the transmission or sync 2 problems. I bought in april 2013 before these problems where known. I would find the cutoff date when Ford started putting in the correct trans. part and buy that year or later. I would also steer away from SE models as they had battery discharge problems from wet wiring. 2015 may be ok for the transmission but it still has sync 2 thats why I suggest 2016 model. I haven't had any serious problems with my 2013 SEL so far. I was considering buy a 2017 Energi to replace my 2013 but decided that I wanted more storage area in the back so eventually I will probably go with a PHEV Escape. My son has a 2016 Energi that has been working well too.
  20. 5K is a good deal I think they are going for about 10k now. As far as the transmission it will be expensive to pull it and install the correct part. But the c-max may get 100k without doing anything. Look at the 2016 C-max's, no transmission problem and sync 3 to boot.
  21. No recall. Transmission would have to be removed to inspect, too costly plus I think they knew when they started putting the correct parts in. My 2013 has about 62k, no problem yet. (fingers crossed) I think most the transmissions failed around 100k. If yours failed before 8yrs / 100k miles ford would replace under warranty.
  22. Here is the thread where I found the info above. My 2013 has 5-20 on oil cap and I think most people and myself switched to full synthetic when that news came out.
  23. Apr 16 2014 4848 -2013 - 2014 C-Max, Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi - Oil Viscosity Specification For 2014 C-Max, Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi, SAE 0W-20 is the initial fill oil and the recommended service oil. The oil viscosity recommendation of SAE 5W-20 on the oil fill caps on some 2014 Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi vehicles may appear to conflict with the owner guide and other service publications which recommend SAE 0W-20 oil. Both SAE 0W-20 oil and SAE 5W-20 oil are approved for use in these vehicles. 2013 C-Max, Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi can also be serviced with either SAE 0W-20 oil and SAE 5W-20 oil.
  24. Whenever our floor matts get wet and we get cold weather the moisture will condense on the inside of the windshield. Just a thought, Perhaps getting a portable dehumidifier and leaving it in the car running for an extended period would remove any trapped moisture in the car.
