  1. Yep! The ICE will use more fuel during warmup and won't turn off during the warmup cycle. Short trips are the worst for MPG numbers.
  2. After having a vehicle with good visors that actually covered the area's you need with the ability to extend by sliding the actaul visor on the arm, these are by far the worst of any car I've ever owned. They really missed the mark on this one.
  3. The light will come on without the vehcile in Run Mode. The only time you don't want it to come on is while the car is Running with the little green car and arrows on in the cluster. You're trying to have them fix a normal condition. Don't waste your time. Nothing is wrong with your car.
  4. Nothng like buying a new 120K Pinto :sos:
  5. Probably first time hybrid owners too! 30 mpg is crazy.
  6. Because of the higher MPH, the Eco cruise won't show any effect. Yep! With the ICE running at the higher speeds you won't notice the HVB charging the 12V battery due to loads.
  7. The Energi battery is 7.6 kWH's and the Hybrid is 1.4 kWh's.
  8. The battery will gain some charge back after sitting and cooling off, but it's only a surface charge. That's why it drops off so quick.
  9. The Energi will display MPG and MPGe data. It will not give you EV only miles. It combines all EV and hybrid power into 1 EV mileage reading. That information is available in the trip data and has a volatile memory. It can be reset. It won't give you a true vehicle lifetime EV mileage reading. It's been eliminated on Job3 vehicles. I think Job3 cars are July 2013 and up production dates.
  10. They have TSB's for known issue's. It's been an ongoing issue. Most dealers are lame and think they can talk BS to customer to eliminate doing their job. Lazy and useless employee's are the worst.
  11. Whoever told you that is an idiot. They have some TSB's for dead battery issue's and they need to inspect your car. They also need to properly charge your battery after it's been discharged to the point of being dead. Don't take BS from your dealers SA. Talk to the manager.
  12. So it looks like Ford has found another fix for the SE's Found this TSB posted by Bill-N........ Thanks, Bill. FORD: 2013 C-MAX This article supersedes TSB 13-04-13 to update the Part List/Service procedure and vehicle build date. ISSUE: Some 2013 C-MAX vehicles equipped with a 4.2 inch display radio only and built on or before 6/21/2013, may exhibit a 12-volt battery that is unable to maintain a charge or becomes discharged. ACTION: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE Reboot the scan tool. Install a battery charger. Reprogram the front control/display interface module (FCDIM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 85.05 or 86.01 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.9 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. Be aware that electrical accessories may operate during programming and should be considered a characteristic. Reset FCDIM display time and date, refer to the Owners Manual, Audio System section. WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage IMPORTANT: Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool
  13. The Energi has 1 battery. It's a 7.6 kWh battery. It's actually 300 pounds heavier than the hybrids 1.4 kWh battery. Having a 7.6 kWh battery allows the Energi to run for an advertised 21 miles of EV only on a charge. I regularly get 25 to 28 miles of EV mileage. It all depends on how you use it. With 26 miles of pure EV mode, I very rarely buy gas anymore. My last tank went almost 7 weeks @ 1035 miles. I refueled and it took 11.708 gallons. 1035 divided by 11.708 ='s 88.40 mpg. My electric bill for the car was under 40 bucks. In hybrid mode alone, I can get 54 MPG with the Energi. I don't travel with passengers, so the extra 300 lbs of battery isn't a big deal, IMO. I also run my tires @ 51 psi. The extra weight is only noticed on take off. It's an added bonus on downhills and regen braking. I don't see it as a burden. I can often regen back a pure EV battery charge of anywhere from 2 to 7 miles on some of our longer downhill grades. That would otherwise be wasted in the hybrid with the small 1.4 kWh battery pack. I bought the Energi over the Hybrid just for the larger battery and plug-in advantage. Until you test an Energi, you won't really understand the advantages.
  14. If the deal is right, I would and did.
  15. It's okay, fBov........You aren't being forced to do it, so just chill out. Others on this board might like to follow/listen, to advise. You're not the only member around here. Thanks for letting me know to avoid helping you in the future. I wouldn't wanna force you to listen to my help or anything like that. Happy Motoring
  16. WOW! 38 is the minimum, at least on my Energi. Don't ever run under-inflated tires. It can cause tire failure without any warnings, plus it causes poor handling, abnormal wear and excessive fuel consumption. You should check the tires air pressure every month.
  17. What tire pressure are you using ? I run higher than the recommended on the door label. Currently, I'm running the tires sidewall spec of 51 PSI. I plan on changing it to 55 @ the 5K mile mark. That's when I'll rotate the tires and verify wear patterns. I've been running 51 psi since it was new. I also changed my oil @ 1500 miles (500 on the ICE) to Royal Purple 0W20 synthetic. These changes will increase your mpg's without hypermile driving techniques.
  18. It's called vehicle configuration. It's the same language as in the Recall notice.
  19. When they write the repair order, the dealers run an Oasis on the V.I.N. Anything that comes up as a recall is a mandatory repair action.
  20. Go to the My Ford Mobile site: https://phev.myfordmobile.com/content/mfm/en_us/site/login.html http://support.ford.com/
  21. May as well just drive a conventional car. How else could you have a hybrid or PHEV, if not for the computers ? I like all the tech of the C-Max. The Energi has more than the hybrid too :worship:
