Was going purchase these at amazon but many of the reviews state that they rust. Anyone have links to a better product?

Taken as a whole extended warranty companies charge enough to make a profit. So if you buy enough of the contracts over the years you will probably lose money vs costs for actual repairs. You might get lucky buying a contract and having a large repair especially with something that has poor reliability. But then you shouldn't be buying something with poor reliability in the first place. I don't buy them as rule and so I believe I have saved a lot more than what the contracts would have cost. Plus they seem write the contracts with exclusions to save themselves even more money.

Check the 12V battery in the car and see if it is dead/low.

Hopefully it is just something in the suspension, have them put it on a lift and inspect the undercarriage.

Maybe the New Escape Plugin or a 2018 C-max coming off lease. It would hard to give the MPG's.

Next time mine does the bad thing I'll think I'll put a piece of electrical tape around the body of the fuse and press the tape ends together as a flag to grab and pull the fuse plus it would identify which fuse to pull too.

Mine radio froze on yesterday. 2nd time in 6 yrs. Reset sync but that didn't help Pulled fuse 79 under the glove box and that fixed it. Try doing the fuse(s) next time.

If the usb isn't charging your phone I would start troubleshooting at the fuse for the usb ports and see why it doesn't have power.

Warmer weather has definitely help our MPG's too. Current tank is running between 49-50 mpg's. This is achieved driving around town on medium sized trips. Recently got our windows tinted @35% all around. Hopefully the AC will run less.

How many total miles do you have on the car?

I have 52k miles on my original tires. Was at my tire place yesterday and asked him to measure the tread left. He got 6/32 on all 4 tires. They are 6 yrs old now. They are probably going to age out and wear out at about the same time.

I also test drove the prius V, the C-max is a lot better car but Ford seems to have trouble making reliable transmissions. My last 2 cars were explorer & c-max. The explorers were also notorious for bad trannies but thankfully neither of my cars had any tranny problems so far. I changed the trans fluid every 40k on the explorer. Wonder if that would help on the c-max? I think it is hard decision for people with a high cost repair to decide to put more dollars into their car when the replacement trans may face the same fate down the road. I only drive about 8k/yr so I still have a couple years for my warranty.

Anyone know what the transmission failure rate is on c-max?

Mine was leaking inside the car on the passenger side. The tube that runs to the rear wiper pulled apart at a connector near the sun visor on the passenger side.

I wonder how much they charged that car?

My local ford dealer both installed and reset the battery manager free of charge. Try another dealer. They even hooked up a 12v charger while the battery was disconnected so I wouldn't lose any programming information.

According to Wiki "in August 2013 Ford voluntarily lowered the EPA ratings and issued customer rebates. The revised fuel economy ratings were reduced to 45 mpg‑US (5.2 L/100 km; 54 mpg‑imp) for city driving, 43 mpg‑US (5.5 L/100 km; 52 mpg‑imp) for combined and 40 mpg‑US(5.9 L/100 km; 48 mpg‑imp) for highway." But they changed the ratings a couple times and we got 2 checks from Ford. : )

There is a lot to like on the new Escape but in comparing it to my c-max... The only things I don't like about the c-max are the ground clearance and turning radius. If the Escape mpgs are around 38 then I don't really want to go backwards from c-max mpg's of 43 (I get 45). Not crazy about the caved in sides of the escape either, looks like it got t-boned in the side.

Which c-max do you have European or US hybrid?
